This post was thought lost until re-discovery by members of the Milestone Society in 2011. It is buried in a tall thick hedge near the crest of a hill on a straight and dangerously fast stretch of the A3400. Furthermore there is nowhere safe nearby to stop for a search. Finding it, and in an almost complete condition, inspired a plan to restore all six of the then known survivors. Six years later the restoration was completed, with grateful thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund for their grant. All six are now listed as a group at Grade II by Historic England.
